How do I get the best flooring installation for me?

Richmond Carpet Outlet is now going into its 35th year of business and we’re proud to say we have one of the largest flooring inventories in the Wayne County, IN area.

We install for both residential and commercial facilities.

We know that flooring is a big investment. There’s an overwhelming amount of choices, so we’ll discuss your lifestyle and budget to help you make the right choice. We’ll even tell you about various installation techniques because that can also affect both appearance and budget.

For example, some, such as hardwood or carpet, require special skills to lay the floor. Others, like vinyl or laminate, are more DIY-friendly.

As a flooring installation provider, we’re happy to either provide the service or guide you through the install process. Our showroom is in Richmond, IN and we service Richmond, Centerville, Cambridge City, Eaton OH, Connersville IN, Rushville IN, and Winchester IN. Be sure to ask about our free in-home measuring.

Before you even start shopping

It’s important to ask yourself some questions, and then be very clear with your flooring pro.

  • In what room will the floor be installed? Is the room sunny and hot? High traffic? Prone to leaks?

Sometimes it’s best to examine a sample in your home, not in the store. If you’d like, we can bring them when we come to measure.

  • Do you have kids, pets, or elderly residents?
  • What is your style?
  • Are you willing to consider alternatives? The reason we ask that question is because you may, for example, you may have your heart set on hardwood, but find that it’s out of your budget. There are some very realistic and stylish alternatives that give the appearance of wood.
  • Will it take place in a new, still unfurnished home, or is everything already in place? If it’s the latter, you’ll need to be sure your flooring coordinates with what you already have.
  • What is your budget? Don’t just think in terms of the initial purchase, but consider installation and any other needed accessories, such as carpet padding or laminate underlayment.

Outside or Inside? Floors or walls?

We carry both ceramic and porcelain and while porcelain can be used outside, ceramic cannot. Also, tile comes in different grades which affect the installation.
